Since founding Darby Architects, P.C. in 2005, Ann Darby, AIA, LEED-AP serves her clients by integrating environmentally friendly thinking for custom residential, remodel, and interior design projects.  Her ideas begin with a respect for the land, climate, and culture, and evolve into designs which embrace old and new and connect people to place.  While most of her work represents the residential market, she is qualified to contribute to a greener community by applying environmentally responsible design to various development opportunities.

Ann developed a passion for the Rocky Mountains and began her professional career designing resort architecture in mountain communities.  Her experience working with Cottle Graybeal Yaw Architects (CCY Architects) allowed her to collaborate on award winning mountain architecture.  She donates her time serving on the design review committee for the Mountain Star neighborhood, where she objectively critiques new projects for the community.

Ms. Darby earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 1989 and a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois in 1994.  During her Masters program, she assisted in teaching students in a design studio, as well as supported the faculty with computer technology.  She was an intern architect at Skidmore Owings and Merrill and Larson and Darby in Chicago prior to moving to Vail, Colorado in 1995.
